Heat Exhaustion


Heat exhaustion occurs when we are exposed to high temperatures, without the correct fluid intake. Anyone can get heat exhaustion, but those most prone to it are people with high blood pressure and the elderly.

Warning signs of heat exhaustion include:
Heavy sweating
Paleness
Muscle cramps
Tiredness and weakness
Headaches and dizziness with nausea
Fainting

Cooling measures that may be effective include:
Cool, nonalcoholic beverages
Rest
Cool sower, bath, or sponge bath
An airconditioned environment
Lightweight clothing
