Headaches

There are three different types of headaches. Cluster headaches begin quickly and only last a short time, but are very painful.
Tension headaches last for a few hours, but some people may have more persistent headaches that last for several days. This type of headache is less painful than a cluster headache.

The cause of these two types of headaches is unknown, but for some people there are certain substances, such as alcohol, which can trigger the headache.

The third type of headache is a migraine.
Migraines are more severe than cluster or tension headaches, and are caused by changes in hormone levels in the brain. A migraine has many triggers, the most common being emotional triggers. Some people experience an "aura" or sign to signal the start of a migraine, however this is not always the case.

The different types of headaches each have their own different pain management plans. Talk to your pharmacist today for more information.
