Flu

Flu is an extremely contagious viral infection caused by the influenza virus. It commonly affects people during the winter months, but is not an exclusive seasonal illness. The flu virus attacks the body by spreading through the upper and/or lower airways.

The flu virus is highly contagious, and can easily be spread to other people in a household where a member of the house has the virus.

To minimise the spread of the disease, hygiene is very important; wash your hands thoroughly with an antibacterial cleaners.

"Flu shots" are available which provide immunisation against the flu virus. Talk to your pharmacist or doctor today for more details on immunisation.
