Cancer

Cancer is the abnormal growth of cells, into masses or lumps called tumours. The cause of cancer can be unknown, but it may also be due to a known cause. For example, many smokers develop lung cancer due to the cancerous properties of the tobacco in cigarettes.

Cancer treatment includes chemotherapy, radiation, and surgery. Drug therapy is also important in controlling cancer.

Some cancers can be cured with treatment, other types are more resistant to medical intervention and so the progression of destruction they cause is hindered.

If you are considering other treatments for cancer, discuss this with your doctor as they may interact with other cancer medication.
