Sleep Apnoea

Sleep apnoea occurs when your breathing is disrupted during sleep. Men, overweight people, and people over 40 are at greater risk for sleep apnoea. Untreated sleep apnoea can cause hypertension, stroke, or heart failure.

Sleep apnoea symptoms include:
Waking up with a very sore and/or dry throat
Occasionally waking up with a choking or gasping sensation
Sleepiness during the day
Morning headaches
Forgetfulness, mood changes and a decreased interest in sex
Recurrent awakenings or insomnia

There are many treatments available for sleep apnoea. Talk to your pharmacist for more details.
