Ringworm

Worms don't cause ringworm. Infact , this skin infection, also known as tinea, is caused by fungi called dermatophytes.

Once the fungus is established, it spreads out in rings.

The centre of the ring may clear up, while a new ring of infection develops at the edge of the old ring. The infection often appears in a round, ring shaped patch. It is red or silvery, with scales, and is itchy. The edge is red and may be raised. The ring spreads outwards and the centre may heal and go back to a normal skin colour.

Creams are effective in clearing most cases of ringworm on the body. Your pharmacist will provide you with the one for you.
