Polycystic ovary syndrome

Polycystic ovary syndrome is a problem in which a woman's hormones are out of balance. It can cause problems with your periods and make it difficult to get pregnant.
Polycystic ovary syndrome also causes unwanted changes in the way you look.

Symptoms of Polycystic ovary syndrome include:
Few or no menstrual periods
Heavy, irregular vaginal bleeding
Hair loss from the scalp
Hair growth on the face, chest, back, stomach, thumbs or toes
Acne and oily skin
Depression or mood swings

The treatments depend on your individual symptoms, but many are available from your local pharmacy. Talk to your pharmacist for more details.
