Knock Knee

Knock knee is a medical condition where there is an abnormally large distance between the ankles whilst the knees are touching each other. The condition normally corrects itself, but treatment may be necessary if it is caused by an underlying medical problem, such as a growth problem or disease.

A doctor should however be consulted if any of the following symptoms are seen:
A large difference between the knee angles on both legs,
An excessive inward or outward knee angle
Pain linked to the angle of the knee

Adults can also suffer from knock knee. In a few cases, the knock knee is severe and poor posture may start to affect the hip joints, back or feet, causing a limp or problems with walking. This could also lead to arthritis of the knee joint in later life.
