Jock itch is a type of fungal infection classed as ringworm. Fungi growth is promoted in areas of the body which are warm and moist, such as the groin or inner thighs.

It typically affects male athletes, but it can affect anyone

Symptoms of jock itch include:
A rash in the groin, skin folds, inner thighs, or buttocks. The rash usually does not occur on the scrotum or penis.
The edge of the rash is very distinct and may be scaly or have bumps that look like blisters.
