Anaemia

Anaemia is the lack of oxygen supply to red blood cells.

There are 4 different causes of anaemia:
1.Decreased red blood cell manufacture within bone marrow
2.Lack of iron in the blood
3.Blood loss (due to menstrual bleeding or injury) leading to a lack of red blood cells
4.Lack of vitamin B12

Different anaemias require different treatment. Some types of anaemia may be able to be controlled via diet, instead of with medication. Your doctor and pharmacist will work together to give you the optimum treatment plan.
